Ilé Òtúrá Oríire
About Òtúrá Oríire Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Temple
Òtúrá Oríire Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Temple is devoted to guiding descendants of Africa back to their ancestral spiritual practices. Our mission is rooted in decolonization, resistance, and holistic spiritual healing and wellness.
The guiding odù of our temple, Òtúrá Ogbè, emphasizes the central importance of Orí.
Through this principle, we support individuals in realigning with their true destiny and purpose.
Our goal is to cultivate skilled, knowledgeable, and self-sufficient priests and priestesses who lead with wisdom, integrity, and strong character.
Òtúrá Ogbè is also known as Òtúrá Oríire, meaning “Òtúrá of good fortune,” or more precisely, “Òtúrá of a blessed Orí.” In this respect, we work to cultivate the good fortune that comes through alignment with one’s destiny—for both our members and the broader community.
Additionally, Òtúrá Ogbè is known as Òtúrá Oríkọ̀, where kọ̀ means “to reject.” This name reflects narratives in which Orí rejects death and negative forces, demonstrating the power inherent in alignment with one’s destiny.
We identify as an Ìṣẹ̀ṣe temple because, while Ifá is our central practice, we uphold the totality of our ancestral traditions. The term Ìṣẹ̀ṣe derives from ṣẹ̀ (to originate) and ìṣe (practice or tradition), representing the complete body of ancestral knowledge, beliefs, and practices.
